of course it's a punk cover, just cause it's listed under Slayer doesn't mean we don't know that, these aren't even Iggy's lyrics, they're different.
ANYWAY... this song is fucking hot! if someone had told me that Slayer's version of this song was hotter than the original i'd have probably thrown a brick at their face, but i listened to it out of curiosity and... do i dare say that it is?!?! |

yeah.. i don't think punk is dead. people just have to realize it can be defined in so many different ways now... their definition of what punk is might differ from someone elses, and that's okay..
but i can totally see where crass is coming from.. they started doing things on their own terms.. independently, and the punk scene, for a while, had showed them that they weren't alone, but then with so many bands like the ramones, the clash, etc. being on major labels and being all about image and fashion... they felt like they were all alone again. |

Actually is wasn't written by Johnny Thunders at all. Most of it was written by Dee Dee Ramone, another 2 verses was written by Richard Hell who was, of course, also in the Heartbreakers and also a junkie. |

does any one think these lyrics are actualy NOT cool? when i first saw her (in the complicated video on much music) i was just thinking "oh my god, she's dressed all punk but her music isn't punk at all..." LOOKS punk, but isn't punk.. kind of reminds me of those groupies i saw at the NFG show.. and now she's singing about how her boy's in a band, i guess she is a groupie.
but i think these lyrics are REALLY horrible. it's like "you didn't want him cause he wasn't like you, but now you see him on mtv and realize he would have been worth going for" like just because this 'sk8r boi' is on mtv he's OBVIOUSLY cool.
"Too bad that you couldn't see, see the man that boy could be" too bad you couldn't see that this 'boi' was cool enough to get on mtv. that's LAME! it like saying MTV=cool, and everyone knows that ISN'T punk.
she says she's alternative, well mtv is NOT alternative. either is MTV2. |

i totally agree with anarchysomething44 on this one...
but i just have to say, MOBY IS NOT A TECHNO ARTIST.
i can kind of see why moby is associated with techno but it doesn't really define him.. it's like calling sum 41 a punk band or saying avril lavigne is alternative. |
