Green Day – Minority Lyrics

I have one question. What about the line "down with the MORAL majority"? I hear both sarcasm and sincerity in this song. Is it saying the "moral" majority is not really moral, or that it may be but it doesn't matter, just wanting to "rebel" for the sake of standing out (rejecting anything widely accepted, whether or not it's ethical?) and even then, conforming (i.e. to the "punk" scene)? I like the line "the only way I know". Do what feels right, whether or not "mainstream" or "underground" society approve, whether you end up fitting in or standing out. Did that make any sense whatsoever? |

Violent Femmes – Blister in the Sun Lyrics

I think it's a fun song and twisted and great, but too many people end their listening experience of the wiolent femmes with it. They are an amazing band and a lot of their other songs are deeper and more thought provoking than this one. |
