the bands name was never I hate myself and I want do die...what the fuck are you talking about!?!? one of the albums (in utero I believe) was originally supposed to be named this, and have all the original mixs of the songs, and then they were going to release another version called "The Radio Friendly, Unit Shifting" version with the mixes that are on In Utero...the band had alot of names when they were starting out, but this was never one of them |

the second part was from his landlord, as credited in the booklet...my interpretation of this song is it's about life and religion...at first when he's talking about the carrots it can be taken as talking about the circle of life, and how that if cows and other livestock should be liberated simply because they're alive, the carrots and other vegetables should be liberated too...and the religion part comes while he's yelling "can I get a halleluja!?" and there's the bleating of sheep after the crowd responds, showing how religion can lead people to believe moronic things like the carrots are sentient...for the second part of the song, left by his landlord, I always get the impression of a serial killers point of view for some reason |

you have to look at this song in the context of the album and the story it's telling...it's about religion and aids...it's the main character saying how sick he is of religion and that we made it all up and to him god is dead...the aids part is the "he made a virus that would kill off all the swine" which is one of the reasons he couldnt believe anymore...he's saying "if god loved us so much why would he allow this to happen?" |

It's the lead in song to the album...it shows everything that's going to cause what's happening to the main character of the album to lead him to eventually kill himself at the end. It talks about the 3 main causes of this. 1. the girl he sings about in piggy, closer, and reptile, 2. religon and god, and 3. drugs. all of them do what he wants them to do immideatly and seem like an exit, but in the end they all use him up, and he lets them do it to him because of that quick fix he gets. |

well before I say what I think of this song, I should tell you a bit about myself...1. I hate pop music. 2. the closests things to pop that I listen to are some techno, some of the more popular rock bands (ie- nickleback, saliva, green day, sum 41, offspring), and eminem (lol). I do also listen to some older punk stuff (ie- sex pistols, ramones, misfits, the clash, the velvet underground, black flag) and more underground punk stuff (ie- Ataris, Agent Felix, Bleak Anthem, Brodiepunk). Now onto what I think of this song. I love it. It's got a green day pop-punk feel to it. Some of her other stuff like Unwanted and Sk8er Boi is harder which I also like. The first time I saw this video on mtv I turned it off cause I thought it was another pop diva like britney spears. The next night (last night to be exact) I saw her doing the last half of this song on Jay Leno and rushed to the NBC website to find out who it was and just instantly fell in love with her music. And by the way, I feel the same way about her getting called a poser as I did when ppl said the same thing about Green Day...as long as there doing what they want to, how can that be called being a poser? |

This is the single from Rob Halfords post-fight, pre-halford industrial metal band Two which featured Marilyn Manson guitar player John 5 (known then by his real name, John Lowrey) which was produced by Trent Reznor and one of the first bands on his Nothing label. It was alot darker than anything else Halford has done. I think this song was about Halfords coming out as a homosexual and all the shit he got from the heavy metal community who once embraced him. It's really fucked up how alot of his fans just quit liking him after he admitted he was gay. To tell you the truth I sorta knew he was gay from the start. I mean come on, look at him for christs sake. He bought all that leather from an S&M sex shop in london, and wears a leather hat...lol |
