Brand New – Jesus Christ Lyrics | 17 years ago |
no anesthetic - finally. i read through what you wrote, and agreed on a lot of it...especially the end where you said how the music dying out and coming back in is symbolic of life after death. no one is mentioning that in any of their thoughts, and i think that its a huge part of the song. Christ died and on the 3rd day rose from the dead. Much like the song dying, and coming back to life. |

ive read through most of the pages of comments, but i have not really seen anyone bring this up, and im sorry if its in there, and i missed it... after the lyrics end, and the music stops and starts again. i think thats symbolic of Christ's life. How He died, and then came back from the dead. The music stops symbolizing His death, and starts again, symbolizing His resurrection. anyone else? |
Angels and Airwaves – Start The Machine Lyrics | 18 years ago |
theres much to analyze about this song. but i only feel compelled to leave a note about how Tom explained it... during their show, he started talking about how he was in this band called blink 182. and how he didnt want to discuss what happened, but that here was this song called "start the machine" the song has clear intentions about the break up of blink. on a side note, on their set list, it called this song "restart the machine." didnt understand why. |
Angels and Airwaves – Down (Live) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
this song takes on a completely different feel after seeing them play it live. Tom played it by himself while leading into The Adventure. The whole song is played differently musically, and he sings it differently. He never sings the "down down down..." part. It seemed to appropriately go before they played The Adventure...it was a way of him saying "this is where i've been, this is where i am...and this is where we are going..." Why he picked down? i dont know. Its hard to explain the feel of this song unless you see and experience it live. The 4 friends who went to the D.C. show with me were in awe when they played this...the whole crowd sang together, and...hmm. i just cant explain the feeling that we all felt. It was breath-taking. it was moving. it was memorable. see them live. experience this song. then you'll know what im talking about. |
Matchbook Romance – I Wish You Were Here Lyrics | 18 years ago |
it kind of reminds me of pink floyd's wishing you were here. with the reference to the machine, and how 'wish you were here' had the songs welcome to the machine. i dont know if its related or not, it just reminded me of it. on the other side, i think these lyrics are pretty self explanitory. it seems to me that he's referring to someone who has died though, seeing as its shallow to want someone back from a greater calling. the part "are you real?" seems like hes seeing the person in a dream and not sure if they really are there. i like how at the end theres the door opening and closing and him walking out. just an outstanding song. |
Angels and Airwaves – The Adventure Lyrics | 18 years ago |
We're all the children left without a trace, only to come back, as pure as gold this song is all about something negative that happened and transforming it into a positive. yeah, there are the clear and obvious blink references, and anyone who knows about the situation there can see that... a friendship ruined. a friendship never forgotten. a heart that wants peace. lives going in different directions. finding the lifeblood that makes you go. staying positive through the turmoil. if this cd is half as good as this song, then it'll go down as #1 with a bullet. |

i think this song is underrated. ace does a wonderful job singing in this one. its one that can be played on repeat and not get old, it dominates. |
