YIKES! I'm flabbergasted anyone didn't understand. This song is about world peace, not romantic love. Hypothetically given the 80s it's sort of like you're speaking to a russian When my sub is setting yours is breaking dawn is metaphorical but can be literal in the sense of speaking to someone on the other side of the world.(or anyone from a different culture. It works great for Israelis and Palestinians) the singer is saying what we're being taught is BULLSHIT and I think you know it, too.
