Radiohead – Bullet Proof...I Wish I Was Lyrics 6 years ago
This song to me is simply a desire to be untouchable from the everyday things than can bother you, whether emotionally or physically. Wanting to be free from all the thoughts and feelings that burden you whether they come from oneself or from other people. Also it’s about resisting having to change to adapt around the material world and having no choice but to get on with life. To add I think it’s also about escaping alienation and what people expect of you. Maintaining self-control and image while being your natural self no matter how they judge or perceive you.

Radiohead – The Tourist Lyrics 6 years ago
To me this song says your being a spectator and viewing the world with different eyes and a different mind in a place your not familiar with, a bit like a tourist but not taking the time to sink it all in. Trying to grasp a surrounding your not familiar with but coping through it and taking your time to fit-in so-to-speak. An outsider trying to find a meaning in the space your in while perhaps feeling thoughts of anxiety/depression in short. That’s what this track says to me. Absolute genius musically & lyrically

British Sea Power – Machineries of Joy Lyrics 7 years ago
I think this song is about a women pleasuring herself rather than being pleasured by a man, knowing it's an easier way to accept that form of self expression but well insecurity gets in her way to accept it otherwise. Machineries Of Joy, in other words, in my interpretation is well self-explanatory, we please ourselves. The name of the album (and its title track) comes from a collection of short stories by Ray Bradbury, The Machineries of Joy. (wikipedia). I haven't read any of his works so I won't know deep down the meaning ; although in my head this song speaks this, just my theory

Starsailor – Way To Fall Lyrics 7 years ago
This song always to me reminds me of depression, alienation and being misunderstood. How people patronise you for the way you feel although they don't have a clue whats going on inside your mind, the way you feel and the emotions you wish you could express but no-one would understand. I know the true meaning is about War and being used for purposes to benefit 'your country' but at the same time living with the repercussions of what you've done and living with the guilt and the shame of the wrong doings. It's such an emotionally powerful song for me swell as others I imagine. It's speaks to me in many ways, coming from a refugee background, growing up in Scotland after leaving my country of Bosnia. I remember listening to it at the end of Metal Gear Solid 3 and crying more than I ever had cause it fitted so well with the story. Definitely my favourite Starsailor song, it was the second song I learned to play on the acoustic :) D Minor, A Minor, B Flat, F Major and A Major... still brings me tears everytime, play along to it everytime. Excellent lyrics and composition. Thanks guys for giving me a sense of hope in such a moving song.

Manic Street Preachers – Empty Souls Lyrics 7 years ago
I think this song is about people who are empty emotionally and don't come to terms with themselves, just live their lives day by day ignoring the world around them until the truth comes to face them - e.g The Twin Towers falling down, a realisation of what was once believed to be truth which evidently turned out to be false and still people believe it was a terror attack perpetrated by terrorists when it was done by their own people so 'God knows what makes the comparison'

Seona Dancing – Bitter Heart Lyrics 7 years ago
I think this song is about a relationship gone wrong, that the woman is untrusting of the man and is accusing him of cheating. Leading to them breaking up and she's still bitter at him so to speak. Unaccepting blame but he forgives her bitter heart.
