I adore how Chvrches sing about stuff most artists don't... Sometimes there's an element of heartbreak and achievement and ironically one of their bigs songs was about threatening someone 'Gun' anyway!! Love this tune... At first glance Id assume she's been accused of something? Then I realise shes almost apologising and theres alot of 'taking back what i said'...The video is a bit of an odd one, can't quite figure out what's going on but I think it must relate to the lyrics on some level... 'Tore a line in the sun' - something you cant really undo and yet they werent even proven guilty.. 'I was better off by your side'- regret....saying sorry.... There's ALOT of metaphors revolving around the ocean.... Especially on the bridge/middle-eight...maybe referencing the past? Literally only analysed this today, feel free to help me!!! |
