It's about someone who initially was saying not what he believed was correct, but was just going along with the current convention, to not cause trouble. In the last stanza he's broken free and has the courage to say what he believes, even knowing it may make him feared, hated, or misunderstood (the part of the forrest you shouldn't go). |
