@[y2doggy:5290] I always thought it was about Trent Reznor. The phrases "The endless drags of a death rock boy " (suicidal lyric themes) and "in your sad machines you'll forever stay" (industrial music) always made me think of Nine inch nails. Maybe they were kinda rivals. I always remember an interview to Reznor in Rolling stone circa 96~97. He said he wanted to be "Always one step ahead of Billy Corgan".
Or maybe is just about himself. |

@[Cleanruss:4794] that might be true. In the "live tonight sold out" home video, Cobain says in an interview "Music comes first", talking about the process of writing. This is very different in artists like, for example, Trent Reznor, who has said sometimes "Lyrics comes first" :) |

Best tool lyric interpretation i've read, thank you. I always thought this song was about true love ("Without her we are lifeless satellites drifting"), love for life, love for all that surrounds us, and that we should reflect that love as the moon reflects the light of the sun. Your explanation is far better than what i thought :P |
