These might be my favorite lyrics of any song, all time. It is hard to put into words the beauty of this song. There is such majesty in an old couple living permanently together through their death, underneath an old tree. |

This is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. I see it as all about forgiveness. They leave their house, see that they've been robbed, and shrugged it off. Then the song describes a bit about the bandits "so they came down from the North..." and how the bandits ran into trouble. The people that were once robbed see the bandits get raided, and they welcome them back into their home to "regain their strength". The ideal of bringing someone that robbed you back in is the most pure expression of forgiveness I have heard. |
