To me, this song is about an ex that cheated on him. The lyrics 'when you took that ring off, balled it in your first" might speak about a girl taking off her ring whilst going to meet the person she's having an affair with. People take their wedding rings off to hide their marriage when they go out if they are trying to cheat. "Eyes like a smoking gun, surprised by what you did." Perhaps he's imagining her being surprised that she actually did cheat on him, maybe crying. Maybe the "eyes like a smoking gun" refers to heavy eye makeup. Idk, but it seems clear to me the song is about a girl cheating on him, and thus throwing everything they had together away. |
