God is the devil. His name is clearly God. 1. ...made damn sure that Pilate, washed his hands and sealed his fate.. Everyone knows the killing of Christ was not the devils work, but Gods That is why he was put on this earth, am I right? To be killed so that man could be washed of sin? (silly story that is. why does God require something to be killed anyway? Murder is the only way he can forgive man? . 2. Is anyone really puzzled by the devils nature or game? I don't think so. As the story goes, his nature and game is evil. No one ever questions that but everyone, including Jesus, questions God. His rhyme and reason are questioned everyday. 3. The killing of the Czar, the German Nazis, etc. It was God who is responsible, not the devil for these happenings, if you believe in all that. According the bible, the devil must have Gods permission to cast his evil on people. And if he gave permission, then he is responsible. 4. ... every cop is a criminal and all your sinners saints. Just as heads is tails, just call me Lucifer cu im in need of some restraint... The song gives the answer right there. Im not saying whether or not Mick Jagger is a believer or not, but he clearly is an educated individual and he clearly does not conform which tells me he has an open mind, a freethinker if you will. I think the purpose of the song is to enlighten people to see what religion has done and will continue to do as long as people do not open their eyes to the nonsense. I find it very interesting that grown adults can tell children that there is no such things as monsters under the bed, or witches that fly on brooms. but a talking snake is ror a man who was hundreds of years old built a large boat and was capable of touring the entire earth, collecting animals to house on this boat during a great flood. Or that a man was swallowed by a whale and lived inside him for days before the whale spit him out onto the shore. Oh don't forget turning into a pillar of salt. that really happened. but no, the witch who lived in a candy house and tried to eat hanzle and Gretel is not real. The song is to open and free your mind from the control religion has on it. |

| I think it's about life. My older brother and I loved this song. I was 19 back in 1993 when my brother was killed. He was 22., I couldn't think of a better song to play at his funeral. I think it conveyed to everyone what he would have like to tell everyone had he had the chance. It was perfect! Although, you can imagine the Ministers and everyone over the age of 30's shock when this jam back to play after the typical songs like Rock of Ages played! It was AWESOME! I've told my children I would like this to be played during the party (do NOT want a funeral) following my own passing. | |
