Yeah I think this is about her intimate relationship(s) with other women. She told Barbara Walters in an interview a while back about this. There are some important clues in the song though: Aphrodite lady seashell bikini (get with me) Venus I can't help the way I'm feeling Goddess of love, please take me to your leader Talking about a woman, reminds me of Katy Perry's "I Kissed a Girl." Let's blast off to a new dimension (in your bedroom) Venus. The new dimension is the non-traditional relationship they share. The most revealing part comes from the chorus: When you touch me, I die Just a little inside I wonder if this could be love This could be love 'Cause you're out of this world Galaxy, space, and time I wonder if this could be love (Venus). The little death probably is an orgasm, never heard that one before. Out of this world, space and time is the adventure they share exploring each other. I think the reason she wonders if this could be love is because she's so used to the Romeo and Juliet version that two women together is radically different (I.e. Who dominates and who submits?). Awesome song though. My favorite on the album, so far. |
