Memphis May Fire – The Redeemed Lyrics 10 years ago
This song is clearly about how the singer, matty, feels about our how many are wrongly dealing with our temporary life on this earth when we should be focusing on what is to come after.
Matty is a christian and makes references toward his beliefs and the faith in many songs.
He is basically saying to let go of your past and all the problems of today. Stop dealing with all the petty issues going on in our lives because there is so much more to come after we die (where he is talking about going to heaven).
"These bones are only temporary" pretty much speaks for itself. We're only here for a short time compared to the eternity that we will spend later on in either heaven or hell.
"Forget then, live right now. Everything rides on tomorrow. When that day comes will you hear, "Well done, well done."?" - christians are taught that they are to live as if each day is our last in a way that we are living a christ-like and christ-centered life so that when judgement day comes, we will be in a good place with christ and he will be able to say "well done" for the work we have done on earth and not given into the ways of this world. as Matthew 25:23 says the Lord will tell us, "...Well done, good and faithful servant... enter thou into the joy of thy Lord."
He speaks of being made new in heaven and our past forgotten.
