I am a new fan of them but to me the song sounds like a guy who still wants the girl but she has given up on him and wants to move on and he is finally giving up. "So make all your last demands for I will forsake you and I'll meet your eyes for the very first time, for the very last" but it could all depend on where your mind or emotions are while listening to it.
