I actually make a lot of sense out of the before quoted line. "A stagecouch full of feathers and footprints rolls up to my soap box door" A stagecoach full of feathers and footprints is talking about how a spoiled, rich person, (They are rich because of the feathers, or expensive clothing, and footprints meaning the rowdiness and drama that is made about them) pulls up to his "soap-box door" This meaning a poor, old house that is in a bad part of town, it almost as if he is homeless, all he has left is a cardboard house. That is just one line of poetry, I personally think that this song is amazing in its lyrical content. |
