Alone to their own devices and their own thoughts, they wished the person hasn't entered their life. Thinking about the past with the person get's to the point where it's "almost jaded", almost tiring as if they're stuck in this cycle. If they never got together, they would never have to break up constantly and hooking back up later. So when they are about to sleep for another day, the person always wants to hear whatever the other has to say and wishes to believe it even if it's not true; especially when they say, "I love you.". Yet despite the words said, it doesn't hold enough meaning and is just said because it's routine since they're in a relationship "this is what we do" (lie to each other even though we don't love one another).
