Jason Isbell – Sunstroke Lyrics 9 years ago
I could be way off cause he's a phenomenal story teller and sometimes writes about things from someone else's perspective. That being said, to me it sounds like this song is about his breakup with Shonna Tucker.

Drive-By Truckers – Made Up English Oceans Lyrics 9 years ago
Seams to me this one is about how people that get into politics focus the majority of their time and resources on ad slogans and campaign propaganda to get them elected/re-elected and that's all they care about. If they get it right and their campaign gets the message across like they want then the people who support them will stick to them like it's their religion. When in all reality they're usually as useless as hen shit on a pump handle.

Johnny Cash – Hardin Wouldn't Run Lyrics 11 years ago
It's about Johnny Wesley Hardin who was gunfighter, and controversial folk hero of the Old West. Hardin found himself in trouble with the law at an early age, and spent the majority of his life being pursued by both local lawmen and federal troops of the reconstruction era. He often used the residences of family and friends to hide out from the law. Hardin is known to have had at least one run in with "Wild Bill" Hickok. When he was finally captured and sent to prison in 1878, Hardin claimed to have already killed 42 men, but newspapers of the era had attributed only 27 killings to him up to that point. While in prison, Hardin wrote his autobiography and studied law, to prepare to make a living as an attorney after his release. He was released in 1894. In August 1895, Hardin was shot to death by John Selman, Sr. in the Acme Saloon, in El Paso, Texas.
