i love these lyrics and i really loved the song.. but i was listening to it tonight and i realised that gwen completely ruins this song. it has the potential to totally rock but she sounds so rehearsed. there's zero emotion in her voice, or what little emotion there is sounds completely put on. this is the best break up song though - minus the performance. i'd also like to say that i really don't think this is about the band at all... just about her and tony. obviously they weren't going to make a video starring gwen and tony's break up - how awkward would that be? plus, no one's going to sell their own relationship like that. |

i always took this song as him being mad at the girl he loves. or disappointed... or maybe they broke up or something. everyone keeps saying how it's just this romantic love song.. but i don't know. i think when he says "There are many things that I would like to say to you/But I don't know how/Because maybe/You're gonna be the one that saves me/And after all/You're my wonderwall" he means that he'd like to tell her about what he thinks she's doing wrong, etc, but he knows that it'll probably come back to bite him in the ass, and anyway she's still his 'wonderwall'. so i guess maybe it is a love song... but a disturbed love song? |
