I can break it down vs by vs but the singer seems to talk about growing up with a girl that he cares about. He's standing still hoping she'll come around. He basically describes how she treated him like a friend (probably because that's where he fit in her life and she maybe never wanted that much from him). He wants her to like him and treats her the best he can and is her support when she's down but she never feels affection for him. Nice guy getting know where. Or they had something and he's hoping it'll revive itself and the passion and relationship will rekindle itself because he worked hard to show her that he adored her and could be faithful . Regardless, He knows what he could do to get her heart and describes that the ability to make a girl cry or to get in her head is how he can get her attracted to him and emotionally involved. The guy is delusional and is stuck on one person and finally realizes that he needs to move on in order to progress. He's crying for her in the end because he's finally letting that dream go and carrying on. This song is him stating that he's done. No more wasting his time. |
