I honestly never even considered columbine when i first heard this, so it irritates me when people so confidently say its about columbine. the only part that could even relate to it is the chorus-and only out of context. This song is about cowboys. They roll cigarettes, they have revolvers, and most importantly, they have standoffs. It's not about a school shooting, if it was, people would have a better argument besides the fact that it mentions kids and guns in the same sentence. |

I always saw it as a guy who knows he is being manipulated, but doesn't really mind at first, and even though he is constantly used he does what his girl asks because he loves her, even though she is really demanding. at the end of the day he just laughs. Eventually he realizes she may not be worth all the trouble and leaves while she finds herself lonely without her toy and he is still laughing |
