this song fits my life soooo well... It's just like he was in a relationship, and realizes that it's long lost its flame. Everything now is a charade, and he's feeling stupid for having ever believed a word that fell from her lips. And he's kinda angry about the way that she (maybe) accuses him of not being supportive enough of her (the part about "sorry I'm so selfish"...so much sarcasm). blah blah.. short summary. it's not that hard to understand. or to relate to, sadly.
great song. the lyrics are just so truthful. you can hear his tone and emphasis just by reading the words. |

I love the spoken part in this. It adds a nice little bit to the song... surrounded by the echoes of the guitars and the rhythm of the drums, it really just inspires me to think of various ways to relate that little spoken part to life. Maybe I'm just strange like that. Either way, I love this song. the length adds such emphasis, just like thegeneralschtan said. |

Amazing song. Makes me want to cry as I pour my heart out through my throat.. garbled cries reaching up a prayer. one of the best bands I have ever heard, or seen live, and with incredible lyrics... and they live near me! and they're great down-to-eath guys... what more can I ask for?

Black Paper Diary is a great band... all the songs I currently have are of horrible quality, but I still love them. And these lyrics are so poetic, so tender... paired with the vocals used, it's simply wonderful

I just saw Spoken live a week or two ago, and when they played this song, the entire crowd (which it was only about 20 people) was so incredibly into it. The walls were dripping with emotion. 'twas truly amazing. |

This song in parts sounds more like an unorganized piece of noise, but still has some good parts. So for some reason, I still really like it. The lyrics are good too. "but what's the use of wishing when they never come true" so cliche, but still so true. |

I definitely agree with a perfect sonnet - that line is simply amazing!! and also, "For that I live and breathe and wake each day Is nothing less than your grace" - OH how I feel this way right now! I just had this really amazing personal/spiritual revelation thing tonight, and I came home and played this song and -wow- this line hit me so hard. Chris is the best lyricist I know. He can express things in the most perfect words possible, and I am so grateful. Incredible song, Incredible band, Incredible feelings. |
