Song came out in 84-ish, Woody's fall around 92. "My little China girl - you shouldn't mess with me" I'll ruin everything you are"! |

Don't take any meaning from MTV style videos. Hardly any of them had any relationship to the song. It was a tool for promoting album and for upcomming film makers to try out new techniques. What did Tom Petty's songs have to do with Alice in Wonderland??? Still they were cool and it is stupid that MTV is still known as Music Television when they don't play videos. Should be TTV - Teen TV. |

37 years after its release, I never thought of the counterpoint connection to Toy's in the Attic. Makes sense. I find it even more intriguing. A fav from one of the great rock albums of all time. |

Became a fan of this band due to MTV. There was a time when the actually played Music related stuff.
On Saturday nights thay would play concert video's and Rainbows "Straight Between The Eye's" Tour Video was one I remember catching. Was awesome concert. This song was the opening song (along with the Wizard of Oz intro).

The Story of when Ace got shocked while playing in I believe Lakeland Florida. Not sure if it was the Destroyer tour or the Rock-n-Roll Over tour as they went back to back. The set had Metal Stairways with platforms atop. They would start the concert with the 3 guitarist above on the platforms usually playing Detroit Rock City. Gene and Paul would make their way down first followed by Ace. I believe I heard that the stairways played a part in the shocking.

I believe this song was one of the first they used keyboard/ synthesizers. It also was a break from the standard three females and the infamous car type videos. Around the same time frame Van Halen's Jump (another song that was not typical for the Van Halen Boys - synthesizers). |
