Talking Heads – This Must Be the Place (Naive Melody) Lyrics | 9 years ago |
The first two stanzas feel like he is talking about feeling like a stranger in his own house/relationship: "I feel numb, burn with a weak heart Guess I must be having fun" etc. but then the rest of it seems to be a genuine love song: "I come home, she lifted up her wings I guess that this must be the place" "I'm just an animal looking for a home And share the same space for a minute or two And you love me till my heart stops Love me till I'm dead" The meaning of it all together eludes me so I change it depending on my mood |
Lets Wrestle – I'm In Fighting Mode Lyrics | 11 years ago |
I think it's "walk over and mistreat me" and " I'll sing till I am grown". |
King Khan & The Shrines – Took My Lady to Dinner Lyrics | 11 years ago |

Black Lips – Bad Kids Lyrics | 12 years ago |
there is definitely not a lot of hidden meanings in Black Lips songs. they're just a fun band. Don't read to far into their songs or you'll end up making your own meaning |
Black Lips – Family Tree Lyrics | 12 years ago |
this has been my favorite black lips song for a while, but i usually get a new favorite every week; they're songs just stick with you. but the meaning, like many other black lips songs, eludes me. A lot of their lyrics seem to be nonsensical and this is no exception. Just a fun band |
Black Lips – Notown Blues Lyrics | 12 years ago |
does anyone remember these late 70's american serial killers? |
Black Lips – Bad Kids Lyrics | 12 years ago |
Just cuz "bad kids" is popular doesn't make it bad you INDY ELITEIST! grow up. that's like saying "Waiting Room" is Fugazi's worst song. P.S. How Do You Tell A Child is also golden; you just probably don't like country. |
Black Lips – Starting Over Lyrics | 12 years ago |
it's missing an entire verse, foolio |
Yuck – Get Away Lyrics | 12 years ago |
this song speaks to me so perfectly right now. recently was in a car accident and broke my neck. (no permanent damage) im in a neck brace for 3 months and can't do anything. "not even the pain kicks in" totally explains the complete and total apathy i have. and the girl i have a crush on is so sympathetic towards me. The attention is cool but i know why im getting it and that makes it seem shallow. TELL ME WHEN THE PAIN KICKS INN! |
Harlem – Pissed Lyrics | 12 years ago |
the second half of this song is the most raw, powerful verse i think i have ever listened to. You can really hear the pain in his voice that comes from the fact he hates/loves this girl. |
Harlem – Scare You Lyrics | 12 years ago |
this has happened to me more than once. You get feelings for a girl that will never feel the same way about you. How are you supposed to react? |
Modest Mouse – Edit the Sad Parts Lyrics | 12 years ago |
This song is about a person who covers up his feelings by using humor. He is so shallow with everyone so that no one will know "Sometimes all I really want to feel is love". "If you stand in a circle" is a metaphor about everyone joining together and being each other's support systems; he argues that when that happens "you'll all have a back to bite" meaning that we could all be just as easily stabbed in the back by trusting ourselves to others. "We're all so funny but he's lost his joke now A communication from the one lined joke A stand up comic and a rock musician Making so much noise you don't know when to listen" These are my favorite lines from the song. He's saying that when things are that shallow the lack of importance gives people a general apathy for each other the final lines "Think it over There's the air of the height of the highrollers Think it over You ain't got nothing until you know her" Is about whether or not he should open up to others. Great Song. Isaac is the man |
