They Might Be Giants – Till My Head Falls Off Lyrics 12 years ago
This song is clearly about getting high on advil.

Lie still, little bottle is about the same thing, he'd get so high on them that he'd basically be on autopilot and just watch himself do things.

"what happened to the other ten?" he took 37, then while not in control of himself took another 10.

The lines where he's talking to himself and viewing himself in the third person make this obvious.
I think he is/ was a bit more crazy than people give him credit for.

They Might Be Giants – See The Constellation Lyrics 12 years ago
This song, to me, is about seeing yourself the way others see you and not deluding yourself.

"found my mind on the ground below.. in the sky all dressed in black" is him realizing that accomplishments, outward appearance and the thoughts you have are what people care about.

It seems like a few tmbg songs are about the parts of the personality and dealing with conflicts between them.

They Might Be Giants – Museum of Idiots Lyrics 12 years ago
The museum of idiots is a bar.
The place where she met him, where she may forget him.

She left him, he still loved her so he went back to the bar where he met her and drank his days away, expecting her to come find him.

He thinks of her relationships as temporary (made of wood) and is just waiting around for her to take him back.

So the bar is full of guys just like him, a museum of idiots.

They Might Be Giants – Mr. Me Lyrics 12 years ago
"enjoy the show, look out below, but mind the misty sea" is a warning.

"Enjoy your trip, have your trippy thoughts, but don't fall in and make it your life"

Drugs being a boat that lets you explore the 'misty sea' and diving in being addiction or dependance.

They Might Be Giants – Mr. Me Lyrics 12 years ago
I always thought this song was about a hippy type who did drugs to get closer to the collective unconscious, thinking it would bring him deeper understanding of the mind.

So he dove in (did alot of drugs) but realized that he didn't gain any deep understanding, and the misty sea was too deep and vast for him to explore it all.

So he'd wasted his time and he got depressed knowing that he'd never gain the deep understanding he expected.

They Might Be Giants – No One Knows My Plan Lyrics 12 years ago
The cave by the creek allegory is about people who are chained up, heads forward, and made to watch shadows all day. The shadows would be cast by people walking past a fire behind them, each holding an object.

The idea was that after a while they'd be incapable of recognizing the actual object, they'd be too used to the shadows and not make the connection.

This song, to me, is about a man with social anxiety who spends his days watching others interact and thinks about the things he did in the past to alienate himself. He was used to seeing others interact (seeing the shadows) but got so used to watching others that he only knew how to pretend to be sociable.

My 2 cents.
