First, I love Toad. This is the only band I can listen too just about anytime and not get wornout by them. I only got into them in the past 8 years or so. Wish I had followed them closer in the 90's.
Anyway, this song is about a failed relationship where people love(d) each other very strongly but their relationship just fell apart - probably over years- as they didn't really communicate they way they needed to to say close. The "spaces" got bigger and bigger, little things got "in between" and led to bickering "somethings always wrong" and the one person in the relationship was trying to make it work but the other was in the moment listening. Incredibly sad song with a bit of anger from the person hurt the most. |
