Low Vs Diamond – Wasted Lyrics | 10 years ago |
I feel this song is about wanting to leave someone and finally leaving someone even though you still love and care for them and it hurts to let go, but at the end of the day, you know you're going to be happier without them. "I know that it burns, it's alright" But he's also having second thoughts. I guess that's how love is. "Should have let you stay" |

The Joy Formidable – Cradle Lyrics | 12 years ago |
Maybe, it's not being able to say something. Maybe it's not being able to end something although all you wanna see is the "end of this". "Get up off your knees" because we're done here. The singer has found a release ("new found releases") after ending it. "We'll deal him sticks and stones and apologies" reminds me of things people say when they break... How they break the bad news and then apologize saying it's their fault not yours. Then again, there's a sort of guilt in this I guess. She wishes that cobwebs would cover her as if she wants to hide away from it all. Either that or that's just what's going on in my life right now. |
Manchester Orchestra – I Can Barely Breathe Lyrics | 12 years ago |
I think this song is about a relationship that's on the verge of ending due to various obstacles. when the dark flood came we wrapped ourselves inside a dirty blanket citing different opinions on whether we should move - They were going through a rough patch. They didn't know whether to move on or stay in this relationship. They had different opinions. The dark flood represents a bad time. And wrapping themselves in dirty blankets meaning knowing their own lies and mistakes but doing nothing to correct them. when the houses came they ate up everyone like they were fishes saying, "come on, come on its the end of the world" - Maybe their families don't want them together and they act like them being together was the "end of the world". They listened to no one's opinions ("ate up everyone like they were fishes") and then i saw your face you're turning skin into a dirty secret i watched the beauties, watched the fire and the fire burn the beauty in their eyes - The girl is probably ashamed of the fact that they made love. The beauties as in her body, figure and all and the fire as in the anger of the families when they learned about this. Their anger makes them look at it like it's the biggest sin in the world. when i took the blame we layed in ruins trying to quote your phrase we're yelling, "someone's got the answers, but i'd rather think there's nothing to be found" - The guy blames himself for all of it but he's not to blame and they both know that. By now, their relationship is in ruins and their thinking about how the girl was to blame too. They know the answer but wouldn't think about it. if you knew i was dying would it change you? - If she knew that the boy was dying, would it change her mind? Make her want to take another shot at it? so when you see me falling backwards down the wall that says i'm still alive, don't be cautious when i'm cautiously approaching on the other side everybody has their reasons, thats the reason we're all going to die - This wall represents their love. The wall says that their love is still alive. But he's crawling to the other side of the wall because he can't take it anymore. His reason is that he should live life up without anything burdening or weighing him down. because if seeing is believing, then believe that we have lost our eyes - They both see how much they loved each other and the fact that they could make it if they tried harder but they can't trust their eyes after all that's happened. when i fly solo, i fly so high don't touch me now. - But now the guy sees how much this relationship was weighing him down. He wants to live freely without having to worry about things like this. He's telling her to let him be, enjoy his freedom because when he's alone, he's on the top of the world. we all deserve something - Yes. Yes, we do. Just my two cents. I love how MOs lyrics are open to so many different interpretations. |
