Ellie Goulding – Figure 8 Lyrics | 9 years ago |
The number 8 is also the shape of the infinity symbol. So, with that in mind, chasing love like a figure 8 is chasing love forever/to infinity. |
You Me at Six – Blue Eyes Don't Lie Lyrics | 12 years ago |
I agree, I also think it's words hurt, not water, not words... Words hurt. :) |
Paramore – Stop This Song (Lovesick Melody) Lyrics | 12 years ago |
I think it's a brilliant song! About resisting to love someone or something. The lyrics are amazing - very witty, using the situation of loving a song you want to hate or know you should hate, but just can't. |
Paramore – In the Mourning Lyrics | 12 years ago |
Probably about Josh & Zac leaving/the conflicts that lead to it, but basically I think it's about having a hard time to let go of something or someone, but at the same time you want to and come to terms with knowing you have to. It's the wordplay on the word morning, spelling it as mourning but using it as a noun "in the morning" kind of gives away - that it's sadness but with hope. mourning means sadness, morning symbolically means a brand new day/the hope that comes with it. Just my opinion. :) |
Paramore – Brand New Eyes Tour Intro Lyrics | 12 years ago |
XxmisguidedghostxX - great interpretation!!! I love how this intro thing gives references to childhood beliefs and fairytales, and how once you've grown every little fairytale turns out to be a sort of lie that basically just got your hopes up and you need to make things right & learn the hard way. |
Evanescence – What You Want Lyrics | 12 years ago |
I think it's a song about freedom (duh?) from someone or something who/that's been very controlling, and part of achieving that freedom as well is to learn how to forgive. |
Brigade – Pilot Lyrics | 12 years ago |
FYI: xDizzyx's lyrics are correct. :) So here's my interpretation of the lyrics - I think it's about being a musician, in general. You know... writing and performing music to "take the pain away." Also, the bridge - I think it means the persona doesn't want to believe the "safety numbers" (statistics to prove album sales maybe or reassurance that they're a great band) or to "wait on those empty promises" (of fame, fortune), just so they can live the life they've been hoping for. Another clue are the lines "We're chasing heights that we'll never reach. In love with something we'll never be" - maybe refers to achieving success in the music industry, the debate between going signed or indie. The first paragraph in its entirety, to me, means waiting for a long time for getting successful in the music industry, for a band of such tremendous talent, yet other bands and singers that basically aren't as talented get all the special attention and privileges. I don't know, maybe I'm over-analysing? Haha! But yeah this is what this song means to me. :) |
Brigade – Four Kids to a Glockenspiel Lyrics | 12 years ago |
nobody wants to dive into the meaning of this, really? I find Brigade so underrated..unfair 'cause they're amazing!!! they're one of my fave bands and Will Simpson is a fantastic songwriter! Anyway. I think this song is about death..not exactly physical death, maybe the "death" of a relationship? But there's a bunch of clues in there that makes me believe it's about loving someone, not being able to tell them, and they've passed on, and you want to tell them how much you love them and how much they meant to you: 1) the line "...but you WERE in my life" -regret, perhaps? 2) the line and underlying vocal "the death inside of you and me (in one last dance)" -it's got permanence all over it..death, last dance 3) ...and basically the entire chorus gives a sad, "goodbye forever" vibe 4) the line "in parallel worlds we align" -the one singing's on earth while the other's a spirit in another world, most likely heaven 5) the line "...if all I have to learn is how to be sure I let go, you can be my guide" -I can't help but think this is something someone who cannot deal with death of a loved one would say So there you go, that's my interpretation! I could dissect it more but I'm afraid I'd eat up all the space here ;) |
