K I know this is like replying 5 years later but..the how do you line I take as having two meanings. One: How do you? as in how do you do that when you saw it growing up, you should have learned. and How do you? as in yeah the guy is an ass and does all this stuff but so do you just in a different way..so how do you? (cheat on your friends, steal etc) |

As a single 32 year old.The song to me, is talking about relationships we get into and they fail and we don't understand why or what happened.We thought we wanted them forever but really all we want is the moon upon a stick just to see what is. We just want to experience if we could be with them forever. He's saying the reason why is because all we are as humans are people discovering ourselves. When we long to become one with someone it is part of ourself that wants to become them.So we cut ourself off and turn into what they want,but we can not remain someone that is not who we really are..so slowly we unfurl already bound by them and having had become them and them us we unfurl into a lotus flower. We release who we really are and push them out..we both do it so now we have grown and learned and taken from that person what we wanted.So now because they did the same there is an empty space inside of our heart..they are no longer in our "groove" so it feels empty..so we set them free.We think love is gone. I can't kick your habit just to feed your fast blooning head means, I can't pretend that I still love you just so you feel secure. I have to see what really is. We will shake and be quiet as mice and when the cats away we will play. Means, at times we will feel the effects of the emptiness and withdrawl and we will ignore our own common sense and quietly indulge in our need of each other..but knowing it will lead know where we don't want to tell anyone we don't want to make it known, we don't want to go back. We just want to tend to our pain as we let go. |
