Band of Horses – I Go to the Barn Because I Like the Lyrics | 13 years ago |
I never interpreted this song to be a song of heartbreak. It sounds to me like a story of old love like new again. I picture an older couple, and the singer admitting his faults but the woman loves him anyway. I just get a feeling of fond reminiscence more than melancholy when I hear it. Sometimes when I look into song meanings, I have to keep in mind that quote from Sigmund Freud on dream analysis: "Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar." I find I'll enjoy the songs more if I just go with my gut feeling once in awhile. Anyway, I think I'll play this on my anniversary. I think it'll fit perfectly. |
