Brandon Flowers – Only The Young Lyrics 13 years ago
I agree with poohbear1979,he did mention that he wanted to write more spiritual lyrics.
I don't know if that's what he meant, but in his religion they believe that you need to learn in your youth, that young people can break habbits, traditions and be the hope to break evil chains passed on by family/generations, and not look back, but bring new redemption for a better future to pass on. That's what a friend who was converted a Mormon told me. He came from such a dark background if I may say. His family were into witchcraft.. and as he joined the mormon faith later but still at a young age, he had so much to fix, and break these traditions to bring new stuff in his life and hopefully in the life of his new generation. I watched his steps and admired him so much for the things he had to go through alone and overcome (as he was the only one in his family who joined the faith in his family). I get a bit tearful when I think of him, and how well he is doing now. This song is very inspired and I love the video by the way!

Brandon Flowers – Right Behind You Lyrics 13 years ago
I don't know what this song means, but it sucks. Let's not forget Flowers said that he wanted to write more spiritual lyrics, and there whatever it means to him, am not religious, I don't understand spiritual meanings/language, but agree with many, this song leaves you with a wam feeling.

Brandon Flowers – Playing With Fire Lyrics 13 years ago
I am sure Brandon Flowers mentionned this song is about him when he left Utah to go back to Las Vegas without his parents. BF has a good relationship with his parents, they are a very close family. This song is not about him and his dad not getting on at all. This song is about leaving home and having to face being on your own in the big world facing temptations... without the protection that you used to have when being at home with family. He has to face also the fact that he has principles and is going to get hurt with some in the big world not accepting or understanding him and his principles.

Brandon Flowers – Crossfire Lyrics 13 years ago
I don't think it's about an affair, I think it is about fighting with something. The title is crossfire. You can think of army fighting, or in Flowers case, could be a spiritual meaning?
Lay your body down... is beautifully written, so it gives straight away to the mind a romantic feeling, but could be about soldiers laying their body down to death for people. Let's not forget how many soldiers have laid their body down for many.
