Anberlin – A Day Late Lyrics | 13 years ago |
"So let me get this straight Say now you loved me all along What made you hesitate To tell me with words what you really feel?" I actually think that they were in a relationship, a very long time ago. "Say now you loved me all along." They probably had a bad break up, and hadn't talked for a really long time. "What made you hesitate" Is a hint saying that she left. She was probably awful to him. "Really feel." During that time, she's really loved him. "I can see it in your eyes You mean all of what you say I remember so along ago See, I felt that same way" Here, I think he's saying that he knows that she's telling the truth, and really does love him, but he's actually felt that same way before about something else she's said, a very long time ago. "Now we both have separate lives and lovers (And lovers) Insignificantly enough We both have significant others Only time will tell, time will turn and tell." They moved on from eachother, but now that she's back, he's not sure how much the 'signifigant others' matter. And he says "Well time will tell us if we back together or not." "But thoughts they change And times they rearrange I don't know who you are anymore Love's come and go And this I know I'm not who you recall anymore" He's saying that her thoughts must have changed about him, or everyone's thoughts, and time in general changed. He's saying that he doesn't even know who she is anymore due to how much she's changed, and that she doesn't know him either, because they grew up so much. "But I must confess You're so much more than I remember Can't help but entertain these thoughts Thoughts of us together" So now, he thinks so much more of her than he used to, and he can't help but thinking of them being together as the people they are now. "We are who we were when Could have been lovers But at least you're still my day late friend We are who We are who we were when Who knew what we know now? Could have been more But at least you're still my day late friend We are who We are who we were when" So! he's saying that they are who they were when they could have been lovers, but now they're just friends. 'Day late' refers to her and that she could have told him sooner. If only they knew how they really felt about eachother before, they could have been more, but at least they're still friends. "So let me get this straight All these years and you were nowhere to be found And now you want me for your own But you're a day late And my love, she's still renowned" All these years, she was no where to be found. She left him, and now she wants him back, but she's too late. But he doesn't deny his love for her, and he knows very well he loves her. |
Go Radio – Any Other Heart Lyrics | 13 years ago |
This is what he said “This record spans the last four years of my life. It’s really about growing up,” says LANCASTER. “I'm 27 years old now, and I've written so many songs about girls, so we collected ourselves to talk about bigger things in life that are important to everyone. There are songs on LUCKY STREET about religion, lack of religion, lack of faith, birth and death. It's really a wide spectrum of topics.” ( "It's really about growing up." ) It may not be about a girl, but it's about his past. And he's talking about the people that were apart of it, It's a wide spectrum of topics. Also, I put at the top, my interepertation. I may have kept saying "her," but by saying "her" and "girl" It could be about anyone/anything. I was giving "anyone" a shorter name, and a pronoun. |

These were the lyrics I got from their website, and this is my interpertation of this beautiful song <3 ----- And this is my last remaining filter on my last remaining words It's leaving the taste of something bitter on my tongue I'm leaving a letter full of reasons along with a line that starts to blur Into a page that says you faded way too young Cause you're leaving something short of innocent I'm still thinking of the times we should of spent It's as if this form of treason crawled up deep inside your head And left you notes on how to keep your insides dead He's saying that this is the last time he's going to watch his words, because covering up what he's trying to say isn't helping at all, So he's writing her about what happened, and only meant it to be a couple of lines, but instead (as we all know) it turned into a big rant that turned into a page saying basically one thing, "That she faded way to young" Meaning, she's changed but changed too soon. And now she's leaving him as a different girl "Short of innocent." And he's thinking of the times that they were alone, that they should have been spending together. And the voice of "treason", is saying that she has to keep the old her, (person that she used to be) dead. ------ If I had any other heart if any other piece spoke louder If I had any other hands I wouldn't need the voice to tell The world about the coward that refuses to stand and claim the blood on your hands If I had any other heart beside my own we might have left you cold Hands are probably used as a symbol in this song, as to what he could do with them. Like, how much he could hold, or handle. So he's saying if he had anyother hands, he might be able to handle it better than using his (amazing) voice to tell the world about the situation. He's clearly not happy with her, and he's saying if any other peice of him (that says to leave her) spoke louder than his heart, he could have just left her easily. "The coward" Is the girl and she's making excuses, and trying to lighten the situation and blame his pain on everyone else. ---- I'm handed a book about instructions on when I should know to go And tracing my fingers down the binding I get cold Cause I've been this awful shade of lonely since your reasons left the room And I'd see everything get warmer if you decide to follow suit If I could paint the town with all your good intent I'd leave these walls as red as my eyes could have been While picking comfort for my Father for a place to rest his head Well Tallahassee will stay gray outside instead He's saying that a lot of people are telling him when to go, and he's thinking about listening but he can't let go of her. Once her excuses started to become meaningless, he's been very sad. To "follow suit" is an idiom for doing the same thing as what someone's done to you, and he's saying if she would just treat him the way he's treated her, he'd feel a lot better about staying with her. He's saying that she didn't have any good intentions for them, and that he would have to leave the walls as red as his eyes could have been. Meaning, he wouldn't have much color to use because she only ever made him mad, and cry. And he could be just as angry and sad like when he was making decisions about where his dad would lay. But he'd rather see the town gray, than angry. ---- If I were king of the world and I could build you a day I'd smile just to rip it all away I would to blaze a memory in your head that screams about regret Simply put, if he were on top of everything, and could make her feel good, he'd take everything away from her in a heart beat, and then that would be the feeling of regretting what she's done to him. ---- Beautiful, but very complicated song. |
Go Radio – Lucky Street Lyrics | 13 years ago |
These are the correct lyrics from Go Radio's website. (And how I take them) ---- And I watched the Atlantic Ocean rise to meet New York And everyone involved got way too scared that life was way too short And we all sang songs about things we'd take back if given the chance, again (He's watching the "Atlantic Ocean, rising to meet New York" Which kind of sets the scene that he's in deep thought about past lovers, and good times. Not just for him but for "Everyone involved" So everyone around him, and it could be relateable for anyone. And he sings about talking about the things they'd all take back, if of course "given the chance, again." But I don't think it's based on regret.) ----- And I'd never seen the sky a sadder shade of gray And I thought about the words I told you and others I forgot to say So just tell me that you'll hold my hand We'll stand together here in New York sand He's saying that the sky is gray, and he's seen a lot of gray skies, but there's something about this one that makes him a bit sad. Kind of like he's having nostalgic feelings. He's thinking about the things he told someone who meant so much to him, and others he forgot to say. Then he /wants/ to tell her to hold his hand, and he /wants/ to stand in the New York sand together, but he knows that she isn't the same person she was, or that she isn't there. And that the nostalgia is making him feel like this. ------ Cause were all just chasing red balloons as our sky falls to the ground And the ocean rises up and you refuse to make a sound And everybody falls and then sways as if to beats Except for you and me, we've got promises to keep here on Lucky Street Red balloons symbolize childhood and love. He's saying how everyone is just chasing after their childhood/lost love/old feelings, even though they're sky is falling. Which means that everything is changing, and he wants to hold on to his past, but he's chasing it. He's saying that everyone changes, and "sways as if to beats" so as the beat changes, everyone changes with it, basically. And he's sort of saying 'But not us. We made promises to eachother.' (probably about not changing) However, she is not the same and neither is he. And he is thinking about it. ------- So many faces that I'd hope to soon forget They're all just pushing and kicking and screaming in a panicked mournful fit Everyone's fighting for just north of here But your just south and baby I'm so scared Here, he's saying he met a lot of people. That he WOULD hope to soon forget. As in, 'he would, /buuuuut./' he probably doesn't want to, even though the pain they're causing themselves is causing him pain. Normally, he would hope to forget these faces, but he just can't do it, he doesn't want to. I don't think the last two lines have to do with distance. I know that "North" symbolizes moving foward, and going on with life. So, it would make sense that everyone in his head, is fighting for him to move on with his life, but he's scarred too because he's still scared of what he's left behind either down south, or litterally just left behind. (Chasing red baloons.) Love Go Radio <3 |

Mayday Parade – One Man Drinking Games Lyrics | 13 years ago |
***Of course everyone interperts things according to what relates to them. I was in a long distance relationship and then she left, so this is basically how I relate to it. Even though in actuality she may have died, I don't choose to see it like that.*** And you said it would be funny to keep me hanging in suspense, -- The girl is leaving him in suspence, by the fact that he's worried because he really loves her and he knows that she really loves him but he's so afraid of her leaving, but he knows she's going to eventually. then I'd run over to your house and I'd scale the chain link fence that, borders your back yard and that I'd climb through your window and I'd whisper that I love you as you fall out of your clothes -- This is the boy reminicing about how he used to have to go through so many obstacles just to try to see her. i.e. "Scale the chain link fence" and "Climb through your window" Those aren't easy things to do. But once he gets to her, they can spend that night together and be happy. This is all in past tense by the way, and these are just his memories with her. And we'd lay there in the darkness like the dream of you I had where we captured all the fireflies and we knew what time we had could be counted on our finger tips that almost made you cry you let me hold you tightly as we said all our goodbyes -- He's talking about laying with her, either while she's asleep or not, but he's thinking about the dreams he's had of her. But he also knows that they both don't have a lot of time together and it's keeping him awake. Since he could count the time on his fingers, he knew that there wasn't a lot of time left for them, and he held her because they were going to leave eachother soon. Still talking about the memory. may I say I loved you more may I say I loved you more -- They probably did the whole "I love you" "I love you more" Thing. So eventually when she left he's saying 'I guess I did love you more' or he's just playing on the fact that that's what they used to do. and It must have been an hour that I clutched you in my arms and I must of said the the right things because you instantly felt warm and you heard my heart stop beating and you wanted not to cry as your sympathetic whispers they told a tale of bad goodbyes -- So he's talking about anything with her, when they were running out of time, Note how he specificly puts the time in, because it's an important thing to them. They were just talking before he had to leave. They're talking to eachother and when 'his heart stopped beating' it was him starting to get really sad as they're saying goodbye. And they're both sorry that he has to leave. and you swore you say me laughing and I swore I saw you smile and this time we spent together has gone to last us quite awhile as I take this piece of you with me I'll carry it to my grave knowing that for someone you're an angel sent to save -- Now he's alone reminicing in the present talking about how he swore that they were happy together regardless of the distance. And the time they had together lasted them a long time, but now it's over for whatever reason, but he'll take whatever she gave him i.e. Memories, a physical item, or whatever and he'll have them until he dies. But he knows that she's 'an angel sent to save' so that's what he tells himself to help the pain of her not being able to see her anymore. (Keep breathing my angel, if you go down I go down with you) -- Even though they're not together anymore, he's just wants her to keep going, and trying to be happy but if she's going down, he's going down too. Self explanatory. may I say I loved you more (keep breathing, just keep breathing) may I say I loved you more -- lets drink to the memorys that we shared down one to all the hopes and cares heres too for being unaware, that your gone because before too long you'll be a memory -- They're both starting to drink to all their memories and time they spent on eachother and he's still trying to understand that she's gone, and he's worried that all she'll ever be again is just a memory. /Before Too Long/ = She'll be a memory way before she was actually supposed to be one. lets drink to the memories that we shared (before too long you'll be a memory) down one to all the hopes and cares (because before too long you'll be a memory) heres too for being unaware (I said before too long you'll be a memory) that your gone I said before too long you'll be a memory |
