"Pee Wee" Ellis plays horns and really makes this song work. I understand that James Brown, the father of funk, had employed "Pee Wee" Ellis before he worked with Van Morrison, and so it feels like Van Morrison is inventing "spiritual funk" as he does something amazing. I love this song. |
