| Eddie primarily wrote this song about his pickup truck, obviously, but I think we all know that it has a much more serious meaning, too. If I'm not mistaken, as a child, Vedder was sexually abused by his mother, and verbally by his step father, who he always thought was his father...and I think this has a lot to do with that, or just abuse in general, following one of the most prominent topics in Vs...but nobody really knows for sure. Don't be too hard on my take on it- I'm just a stupid teenager. At least I'm listening to this instead of Lil Wayne or something. Eddie's childhood has to do with a LOT of Pearl Jam's songs, which is why I think their songs are so meaningful and profound, to me, anyway. You can seriously feel the emotion, and I can't tell you how many times their songs have given me chills or make me cry. Brilliant band, my favorite. No other band that I've listened to has had songs that make me think as much as Pearl Jam's do, so kudos to them. | |
