| It's amazing what you wrote, really i don't know what to say, but i really wish you the best. I can relate to this song in a slightly different way, but i can strongly relate to it. It gives me strength and hope, every time i hear it it touches my heart deeply and i feel a desperate need to cry and pray, 'couse i know i'll make it thru somehow, I'm alive and it has to be for some reason. Uhm i don't know you guys, but i can totally relate this song to pot! just listen to it, if you smoke weed you'd know what i'm talking about Cause it's easy once you know how it's done You can't stop now It's already begun You feel it running through your bones when you smoke for the first times it might feel horrible or difficult you know, but once you know how to smoke it, it's so easy, and you can't stop! not because it causes addiction, but because it's soooo cool you want to do it again. Love your interpretation. I was thinking the same thing about "It's Working" Lots of MGMT "fans" enjoyed their hit songs like electric feel, time to pretend and kids while tripping. and they "fell in love" with them, and now just hate their new CD. "It's working in your blood. but that's not the same as love" I think MGMT wanted to get away from all this fake fans, mass adullation, etc. with this album, and they are doing it indeed, which is great. I love Congratulations, there's no one single song that I dislike, which for me is totally new, i always skip songs with other artists, but no MGMT, they are pure magic to me |

I totally agree with you. In the video when the old lady is playing the flute after the puppets part, notice how Ben is kinda exciting and happy and Andrew is like "eew". I think that matches your interpretation, the flute part is very catchy, I personally like it a lot, has a very happy popy tune, and that's what MGMT fake fans were expecting about their new CD. The whole puppet and flute part seems very appealing to ben, but andrew doesnt like it at all. He doesn't want to be mainstream: "mass adulation not so funny" I think MGMT are beyond music and art. Their songs are just amazing. I love them so much and if I'd have the chance of seeing them live, it would totally blow my mind. So please MGMT, come to Guatemala!!!! |
