Yes this is a love song, but if anything I believe it makes most sense to be about losing a lover. "Never been so much in love, and never hurt so bad at the same time" He loves her and he wants her back, but she no longer wishes to be with him. "Wish that I could see you once again across the room" She left, and he wants her to come back. "Make me proud to be your man, Only you can make me strong, like the last time" Last time being before he lost her, and He would be proud if he got her back and he'd be stronger. "Just want to hold you, Don't want to hold you down." he wants her but he cant force her to want him, He's letting go, to please her, so that she can move on. All together this song is beyond amazing. I fell in love with it the first time that I saw Reign Over Me. I can listen to it over and over.. and never get tired of it. It is simple, but so soothing :) |
