I just have to say that "If you didn't kill the animals yourself, it's not murder" is a kind of hypocrite affirmation. The fact that you didn't directly take part to a killing that is being perpetuated also for and because of you, does not make your hands cleaner. |

I'm not really sure but it makes me think about this:
A woman left by her man, and now their child constantly reminds her of him, the way he left and all the suffering he caused to her. I cannot say if the child is actually born or if it's talking about abortion, but I think that the sense doesn't change in some way: the mother sees in this child the man who made her suffer and prevent her from forgetting. |

It can seem a selfish choice because it's not a fault of the people around you, well, it's nobody's fault... but it's better than forcing yourself to something that "stress" you...he definitely feels more confortable in this way. |

I also see it as the death of a relationship, but I feel it more as if it's about the fear of its real end.
The love was once so strong that maybe they hope that staying together they could love each other again, searching for a sign by the other that something is changing in positive, but it's just like continuing the agony and fueling the bad feelings that are replacing the love.
They're both afraid to be the one to say "stop, it's over", 'cause they're aware that after that there will be no coming back. |

This is one of the most original love song I have heard... not the usual "I love you, you're my life bla bla.."
The reference to death is just for explain how much he needs her, this is a very nice part... and please, don't look always for references to drugs, especially where obviously there aren't. |

I agree with Thundermane. The narrator is refusing to die, he's aware that his life depends only on his past and future actions, and that what is done is done... but he seems determinate to take control of his life and resist.
I really love this song, and lyrics are very good. I like all the metaphors to explain the concept. |

This song is so sad and beautiful... For me it's about a finished relationship and the narrator is blaming himself for this... he feels like everything is wrong with him, so alone and depressed...
His pain and regret are so strong that he "projects" them on everything [and on every relationship with people] and not only on the failed relationship, as if he could ruin everything ["Who could call my name without regretting"] |

For me this is one of their easiest song to decipher... not as enigmatic as some other songs... but I could be totally wrong.
Just a morbid relationship between two people, one of them betrays the other, that feels as if everything they spent together means nothing, now that (s)he's behaving like never before, maybe under the influence of the "new" person... as if she felt superior to him and she overcame the whole story...or at least she wanted to show this.
