Never Shout Never – Damn Dog Lyrics | 13 years ago |
Bahaha I can see that now! |
Say Anything – All Choked Up Lyrics | 13 years ago |
I believe it's, "You will STAY what I never have", as in he will continue to not posess her.. might not be correct but that's what I hear. (: I'm pretty sure this song is mostly impossible to figure out completely, but that's what I love about it. |
Paramore – All I Wanted Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Also, it upsets me deeply that they never play this live... maybe it's too much for Hayley to handle with all the excitement of being on stage plus belting out a note like that, but still. It gets me down man. D: |
Paramore – All I Wanted Lyrics | 14 years ago |
CHILLS. That's what I got the first time I heard her scream that "all I wanted was youuuaaaaoooooohhhhhh!" part. Holy fuck. To me, this is not about Josh or Chad or any other guy. I just think of it as kind of a story. Maybe the song first sprung from thoughts about Josh, but I don't think the situation was quite like this. It could be about having a relationship with someone and going about it the wrong way; moving too quickly. Rushing led to the downfall of the relationship and now she's dreadfully lonely, wanting to go back to the beginning where things were good, doing it all over again but the right way this time ("I could follow you to the beginning/Just to relive the start/Maybe then we'd remember to slow down/At all of our favorite parts"). She doesn't know what to do with herself now, because he's gone away and she probably was so into him that she doesn't really remember how to live without him. Or maybe she just doesn't want to live without him at all. And the chorus almost sounds to me like she's begging for forgiveness or something - even though it was the both of them rushing, Hayley seems like the kind of person who would take all the blame. She needs to justify her actions ("All I wanted was you"). Again, this is just an idea... I'm sure there are tons of ways to interpret this. |
Blink-182 – Feeling This Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I'm hearing "I love all the things you do," not "I wanna take off her clothes" in the first verse. Maybe I have a different version downloaded though because no one else seems to have noticed that. Anyhoo, I fucking love this song. It's just really young and awesome. Blink is amazing. :) |
Alesana – Congratulations, I Hate You Lyrics | 14 years ago |
^ lol at you all. :) |
Kate Nash – Mansion Song Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Ohhhh! Thank you eightyseven. Haha I get it now. |
Kate Nash – Mansion Song Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I get the overall meaning of the song, but what does she mean by "I am a mansion"? How does a mansion compare to a person? |
Kate Nash – You Were So Far Away Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I seriously have no idea what this means, but I'm dying to know. Seems like some kind of twisted dream or something. |
Kate Nash – I Just Love You More Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I kinda take this as her making fun of those ho-girls who sleep with everyone (the sex-noise sounds xD) and say "Oh I love you more than anything". |
Kate Nash – Don't You Want to Share the Guilt? Lyrics | 14 years ago |
"worries me somewhat"* not "worries me so much". :) |
Kate Nash – Paris Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I get what the song is about now, but have no idea why she might've named it 'Paris'... I've got Shakespeare on the brain so I keep thinking it's because of the guy named Paris from 'Romeo and Juliet' haha... yeah, I know. I doubt that's the reason too. Any other ideas people? |
Kate Nash – Paris Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Oh that makes so much sense! Haha thanks for posting that. I was pretty confused. Kate is a genius. |
Kate Nash – Birds Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Just a couple corrections... He said "Alright, I'll try. <-- (Misplacement of the quotation marks.) All the stars up in the sky and the leaves in the trees, All the broken bits that make you TRIP* up and grassy bits in between. <-- (TRIP up, not jump up.) All the matter in the world is how much I like you." Gosh I love this song. :D It's so sweet. The meaning is pretty obvious, I'd say. She scares him to death and makes him really nervous, but in the end he still thinks she's beautiful and he loves her. It's a story about young love. |
Never Shout Never – Sacrilegious Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I agree completely. :D |
Never Shout Never – Sacrilegious Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I have to disagree with you... I mean you totally deserve your own opinion. I understand what you're saying. But I think differently. Christofer isn't a part of any organized religion. He believes in God in his own way, so he probably doesn't see pot as a sin at all. This song is just him explaining how he feels about church and everything; he loves the cause but not the act- meaning it's a great idea to get a bunch of people together to celebrate Jesus, but Chris just doesn't like the way they're doing it. So I don't see how his purpose for the song could be wrong, or how he could be a hypocrite, but I guess maybe we're just different. |
Never Shout Never – Bigcitydreams Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Gosh he's grown so much from the EP days it seems, haha. I love this song but his new album is fantastic, it's more together. Though it'll never be like the days when it was just him and his ukelele or guitar. |
Never Shout Never – Bigcitydreams Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Yeah that seems totally right to me. I think you understood this song perfectly. :D |
Never Shout Never – California Lyrics | 14 years ago |
This song is awesome. I love the way he says California haha. I personally don't think it has a specific deep meaning. Maybe it's a memory of his or something. But it kind of just seems like one of those fun songs that aren't meant to mean much of anything at all. Something about California. |
Never Shout Never – Damn Dog Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I don't completely understand this, but then again Christofer's pretty deep. Obviously it's about his dad and their relationship, or possibly a lack thereof, but other than that the meaning is kind of foggy. |
Never Shout Never – The Past Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I agree with bowieisgod and alpal722 kind of. I read in an interview though that in school, there was a group of kids who'd make fun of Christofer all the time, just because he was different. Him and his friends didn't give a damn so they did their own thing. This song is so powerful. Not to get all fangirly, but I heard it for the first time today and I cried. If this doesn't make people fucking feel something I don't know what will. |
Fiona Apple – Paper Bag Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I agree with the main theme in these comments, but a little differently. This song speaks to me because of the way I see it. "I was staring at the sky, just lookin' for a star To pray on or wish on or something like that I was havin' a sweet fix of a daydream of a boy Whose reality, I knew, was a hopeless to be had But then the dove of hope began its downward slope And I believed for a moment that my chances were approaching to be grabbed But as it came down near, so did a weary tear I thought it was a bird but it was just a paper bag" She wants someone to love and is looking for the right one, yet is constantly falling in and out of hope. She knows that it's going to be a struggle to find somebody who can deal with all her emotional baggage and put up with her ("I know I'm a mess he don't wanna clean up/I got to fold 'cause these hands are too shaky to hold") and is disappointed when she thinks she's found the right one and he turns out to not understand at all. ("He said it's 'all in your head' and I said 'so's everything' but he didn't get it/I thought he was a man but he was just a little boy"). But I think realistically she knows that she can't blame it all on the guy, because she's got her own stuff going on in her mind and can't expect everyone it get it (even though she should be able to). Yet that doesn't soften the pain. |
