| I think this song can also be interpreted in one's own personal way. For example, I do agree with most people here that is about a relationship, but I really think that it can be any type of relationship. I personally relate to this song because of my relationship with my mom. The first line, "All the things you said to me today changed my perspective in every way" reminds me of the days when my mom is upset and she talks a lot about our relationship and how she wishes we were closer. "These things count to mean so much to me, into my faith, you and your baby" makes me think of how much a care for my mom and her baby (my little brother who lives with her.) Then "It's out there" makes me think that it is possible that there is something out there for us, something out there that can help our relationship. "It's out there if you want me, I'll be here" strongly relates to our relationship because my mom sometimes doesn't call for days even when she says she is going to call me back and that makes me feel like she doesn't really care, even though I know she does. and it would be like I am just saying if she wants me, I'll be here.Then I interpret I'll be dreaming my dreams with you and theres no other place that I'd lay down my face..." as myself dreaming about my mother, because I dream about her a lot and when it's a really good dream there is no other place i'd rather be because I am so happy there with my mom. I don't really know, that's just how I interpret it. | |

| I think that the song is about, just about what everyone has written, two people who are so truley in love and just cannot be together. But I think that it's much more than that, they are trying and trying to find a way to be together but its near impossible because of reasons that keep lovers apart. It could be distance, which is what the lyrics specifiacally state, but it could even be other things like gay people not being able to marry or people whos parents wont let themsee the other person or a terminal illness, are you getting what i am saying, its not just distance but anything that keeps you from being with the one you love......including fear in my case... :] | |
