It's about the time when Chad got sick over in Africa and the small village he was in, treated him with a old practiced religious remedy for his illness. So when he says "i just want my arsenic and clover, no matter what the heathens say" means he'll take their medicine, because it seems to be working, even if others would say not too, since it's unsafe. A heathen is a person who discounts every religion out there, except for the major three, so I think he's pretty much saying "I don't give a shit if the heathens say this remedy won't work, I'm using it, I believe in it" This song is so catchy, one of my favorites on the album. |
