yes, blow up the pokies is about andy, ... and the charlie songs(1,2,3) are about stevie. think this is an obscure reference to his many name changes (stevie plunder, justin sane, etc...) the whitlams have been one of my favourite bands since i was young. they are awesome, and tim is a fantastic lyricist... not enough tribute goes to stevie and andy though. R.I.P guys. much love. |

i remember my mother playing this on her guitar when i was a toddler and i grew up loving it. it wasn't until i got a little older that i started questioning the meaning of it... by the time i picked up my own guitar this had slipped my mind. until i saw "i'm your man" the leonard cohen doco where rufus wainwright (one of my favourite artists) does the most amazing cover. i can never let this song go. |
