Oh, and I forgot, it's "Good or bad faces of LUCK" not love |

The correct lyrics are as follow: someone falls to pieces sleeping all alone someone kills the pain spinning in the silence she finally drifts away someone gets excited in the chapel yard catches a bouquet another lays a dozen white roses on the grave and be yourself is all that you can do to be yourself is all that you can do someone finds salvation in everyone another only pain someone tries to hide himself down inside himself he prays someone swears his true love until the end of time another runs away separate or united HEALTHY or insane and be yourself is all that you can do to be yourself is all that you can do even when you paid enough been pulled upon or been held up every single memory of THE GOOD OR BAD faces of love don't lose any sleep tonight i'm sure everything will end up alright YOU MAY WIN OR lose but to be yourself is all that you can do to be yourself is all that you can do |

I completely agree with Darkenr The writer is not explicit on any particular event. In fact, it is really referring to multiple events over a period of time. "Life taught you how to fly, and then you flew away from me." This is referring to the writer's conscience. It's like they are two separate beings that don't see eye to eye. The glamor of the world fed into their selfish desires and left them with bad memories and regret. The real person was still there but the regret and memories were their own entity. These feelings were never dealt with and the person never moved on. It controlled who they were becoming..."You harbored all the wasted sighs to define the quiet drone" and "Make the voices tell me who you are and who I am to be"...the voices being the bad memories/feelings. "The Pursuit" does refer to the pursuit of happiness. This happens when you stop living for the world (portrayal of life) and you live for the real person buried deep inside. "But I'm still in you somehow, I never left at all..." This is the real person still inside. |

I agree with Darkenr completely. I don't think the entire song eludes to any particular event in the writers life. In fact, I believe it refers to multiple if anything. The person is talking to their conscience as though it were it's own self. "Life taught you how to fly, and then you flew away from me" The glamor of life fed into the selfish desires and the person forgot who they were. They were left scarred and alone, with bad memories and regrets. "The pursuit" does refer to happiness. That begins when you stop living for this world and you live as who you really are. |
