I agree with surrendered. "my body was the only thing keeping me from living." Refers to the common idea in the Bible that we must die to self to truly live, to have God live in us. The line after refers to Satan being the Surgeon hoping to bring us back to "life" which is sin and non-belief. "Send me all of hell and I'll face them," Is the big clue it isn't about the anti-christ or Satan. Why would Satan undermind himself? He wouldn't. He is the great manipulator and so is smart enough to not attack himself. "I'll face them one on one-thousand." Is in reference to another common line in the Bible that we will be less in numbers in comparison to the "non-believers". "With blistering heat, the army now bursting through, blinds me with a light not meant to empower but reigned to devour." Satan is often said to be a devourer while God is said he will empower us. |
