| the gin blossoms have very nosaltagic sounding songs. This is another upbeat, a little depressing gin blossoms' song. I can relate to this. I am not a alcoholic like Doug Hopkins was, however i can remember those days of drinking for every reason i could. COming from a very, very small town. I was drinking to forget, to remember and to make everything look as different as it could.Love love this song, brings back memories of being in my late teens and early twenties. and how innocent i thought the world would be if i could only get out of my small town. HA HA, life isn't innocent. it's beutifully tragic. | |

Could there have ever been better lyrics written then by the Doug. I love this song, this is one of my favorite GIn Blossoms songs. to me this is about a guy who knows how he is in relationships and he saying that until he falls out o f love with his girl, he will not keep her waiting long. WE'VE all been there, we have all been in relationships thAT we know are not going to work. |

I think artists write songs about their life, but also for others to take from it what they will. She may not have wrote this about a relationship but for me I see it that way. Anyone can relate to this song. It reminds me of myself I was with a guy all through high school and college and then got engaged and it didn't work out. Becuase i didn't know who i was without him. Even though i didn't want it to end it needed to. |
