Dance Gavin Dance – Uneasy Hearts Weigh the Most (feat. Nic Newsham) Lyrics
| 14 years ago
|
Best DGD lineup possible:
Clean Vocals: Kurt Travis. His sucky live singing gives him an excuse to hand a fan the mic every now and then to sing a line, which makes live performances so epic. Also, the cowbell or whatever the hell he plays is awesome. He can hold his owns screaming a few lines, too, which makes him extremely versatile.
Screamer: Jon Mess. His lyrics are so clever, and his unique scream makes DGD stick out.
Lead Guitar: Will Swan. Probably the best guitarist on the scene, in terms of creativity.
Guitar 2: Zac Garren. The current combo with Will he has going is Godly. He's also very open about the band and is pretty much the messenger of truth, in my eyes. He'll say anything, and a lot of people hate him and call him a douche for that, but I give him mad props.
Bassist: Doesn't really matter, they go through like 1 a year and I've heard Will writes most of their parts anyway.
Drums: Matt Mingus, since there can't be any other. We miss his beard, though.
All in all:
Amazing band right now, but they were best when they were a 6 piece. Their Self Titled/Untitled (I've heard it both ways) album is the band performing at their peak. |

Dream Theater – The Spirit Carries On Lyrics

This song's amazing. If the magnitude of a band were to be measured by the skill of the players, then Dream Theater, by definition, would be the best band ever. This is an extremely powerful song, especially live. |

My God, I love this song. Favorite on the album by far. Its mood is so different than the rest of their songs. |

Easily the best song by this band. Both the instrumental and vocal aspects are quite amazing, and show Alesana's greatness as a band. |

Dance Gavin Dance – The Robot With Human Hair Pt. 2 Lyrics

This song needs way more credit. It's currently my favorite by them. Given, all my DGD stuff has a playcount of like 80 per song and my favorite song is switching every week. It's just the more I listen to, the sicker they get. The guitars in this song are crazy. |

Yeah I'm really excited about that. Hearing Jon Mess on some new material is like a dream come true, and adding Jonny Craig to the mix is a good refreshment, too. I'm seeing DGD and Emarosa on October 10th at Jaxx in VA. It sucks that Mess only randomly shows up at shows in Cali or wherever he happens to be. :\ |

Dance Gavin Dance – People You Know Lyrics

Jon Mess just likes to cuss when he's drunk. The many ways this song can be interpreted is what makes it so freaking awesome. The ending of this song is so freaking moving. Jon Mess should start a studio side project. He doesn't like to tour apparently, but just sitting at home playing WOW all day (not that I'm criticizing) is a waste of one of the best screams on the scene today. Who cares if we never see you live? Music isn't just for being enjoyed live. We need it in our cars, our bedrooms (lol), and anywhere else you can plant a stereo. Jon's so freaking talented with his lyrics and his screams are freaking amazing. And when he went on stage for Casablanca with Emarosa like a month or two ago made me POSITIVE that he still had it. JonFuckingMess. We await your new material. |

Has Caviar been played live? I can't find any evidence of it having been played, which is weird. I understand not playing People You Know (which is sadly my favorite song by DGD), but Caviar? I must be wrong. |
