Green Day – Know Your Enemy Lyrics 15 years ago
To all of you bashing this song because of the repetition of the first three lines and saying that a 5 year old could write better music, think about this. Know Your Enemy is a rally song. A call to arms. Now, when you repeat something to someone, why do you do it? So they remember. Green Day is trying to make us think about the message that the enemy is neer really just one person. And most of you seem to have forgotten about the individual verses. They are there to reinforce the point of the song. Personally, I think it is a great song. Now, if all the songs were this repetitive, then it would just ruin the point, but luckily they are not. Green Day has only gotten better, and I look forward to what they give us next.

At first I thought of the "We are the cries of the class of '13" as a reference to how some people believe that the world will end in 2012, meaning that the kids who would graduate then wouldn't get to enter the adult world if this came true, which I can somewhat relate to, seeing as I'm cass of 2012.

But then I realized that it's a reference to BJA's son, who graduates then...
