This would have to be my favorite Dixie Chicks song, other than "Not Ready To Make Nice".
This song has so much meaning and the effort they put into it really just hits home. Very good song! |

I agree with others, I do believe this is a song about Kurt Cobain's death and how it affected her. Some say Courtney is responsible for Kurt's death, but that's something that's left unknown. When I first heard this song, it made me respect Courtney so much more! With her refrences to the Pacific Coast highway, I think she has so much running through her mind that she just wants to drive the Pacific Coast highway to no end. When she speaks about how she's "drowning", I think that it ties into how she has so much running through her mind that it's drowning her inside and emotionally. |

This song is amazingly beautiful. It's very well-written and so controversial, dealing with refrences to murder, drugs, and domestic violence. I can understand as to why the vocal version wasn't released onto the album, instead the instrumental. The instrumental is good, but with the vocal version, you get the full effect. It's such a mellow song, to say the least. I, especially, love the lines: "and her nose starts to bleed a most beautiful, ruby red", "Hollywood glamorized my wrath". |

This has to be one of the most well-written songs. I enjoy the ties it has with Sylvia Plath's poem "Daddy". In the song, it discusses how the father molested the daughter when she was younger, by leaving stains on her sheets on on her heart. |
