I agree - this is my favourite song from Into the West. I love it. There's a youtube video of Boromir's death scene playing this song. Very powerful stuff. |
Matthew Good – Born Losers Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Let me try rewrite it: Your whole life you lived wildly and recklessly (drugs, no responsibilities, etc). You lived this way so long you will not be able to land properly (come back down to earth and lead a "normal" life). I want out but I want to be able to "land" so just leave and stop tempting me (Cause I could never say that halfway ain't enough). |

Regarding the first and last verses, I also thought MG is referring to his wife having an abortion. I took it as Matt wanting to settle down a bit, start a family while his wife wanted to continue the partying and not to be tied down with a baby. That's just what my first initial thought was. Maybe it was a miscarriage but that doesn't really jive with the "And the life you would not give her" line. |

Yes to the above posting. I love listening to this song on a cold Winter day. Actually any day for that matter - it's very beautifully melancholy and tragic. |
Pilate – You're All I Need Lyrics | 15 years ago |
This is a very beautiful song. It is one of my top 3 Pilot Speed songs. |
Pilate – Out On My Feet Lyrics | 15 years ago |
The (kid?) choir is a sweet touch to this song. |
Pilate – Don't Waste Your Breath Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I think it is about a girl that is stuck in a mire of grief and fear and can't live a normal life. I think that is what "it" refers to. Don't waste your breath on me - use your energy to take back life and start living again. Great song. |
Pilot Speed – Alright Lyrics | 15 years ago |
First explanation posted here is what I agree with. What an emotional song and the instrumental explosion just knocks you off your feet. |
Pilot Speed – Where Does It Begin? Lyrics | 15 years ago |
This is one of the few Pilot Speed songs with a kick-ass vibe to it - and maybe Into Your Hideout too - though I haven't listened to any of the Sell Control For Life's Speed album. I think this song is more of the stuff along the theme of a messed up world but with hope - though not too much hope in this particular song. |
Pilot Speed – Put The Phone Down Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Catchy song. His voice sounds awesome in this one. |
