this is what i hear in the fourth stanza: "docile living lusters forming pools beneath her feet invertebrates that only she can see and i say 'what on earth are all these engines for?' she says 'exactly, we're not gonna wait around here anymore.'" "she" turns his question into a pun with her answer. it makes sense to me considering the next line: "systems back down slow watch the dust cloud rescind." like a space shuttle's engines & the settling debris in the lauch zone? maybe i'm wrong. |
