| Ive been trying to learn Icelandic lately, and one thing to keep in mind is because its a different language, many words have the same general meanings but not so much specific meanings. Icelandic doesnt have a heavy list of vulgar words like English. It's basically saying this old farmer was dragging some hay and he slipped, and its like saying Goddamnit, or just damn, or even darnit. Its just a word to describe a general frustration. It doesnt directly translate into fuck, but because so many people in our society use "fuck" so freely and lightly like when you slip and fall, or stub your toe or whatever, in that sense it has a similar use to andskotann in Icelandic. | |
